Privacy

Hunker has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We only keep what is needed to send you weather alerts for the places you save.

Places you save

To send alerts, the app sends each place's coordinates (rounded to about 10 meters), its name, time zone, the alert types you chose, your quiet hours and an Apple push notification token for your device to our server. We use them only to decide which National Weather Service alerts cover your places and to send the notifications. They are not linked to your name, email or Apple Account.

When you delete a place, it is deleted from our server. If Apple tells us a push token is no longer valid, we delete the places tied to it.

Your current location

Your location is used only when you tap Use my location, to add the place where you are. The app asks for location While Using the App and never tracks you in the background.

Maps, radar and storm reports

To show alerts, storm reports and hail estimates, the app sends a place's coordinates to our server, which returns public NOAA and National Weather Service data. The server does not keep these requests or write them to logs. Maps are provided by Apple.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.

Sharing places

Place lists and PDF reports are created on your device and leave it only when you choose to share them.

Children

Hunker is not directed to children under 13.
